When wilL the project begin?
Many in the Sugar-Salem community have asked, "When will this project start?" Below is a current update for the New Sugar-Salem School.
As you know, the process to design a building of this type and size takes time. When the Bond passed in August of 2019, the District, design team, general contractor and a committee of community members continued the process of refining the design of the new school. This design continued through the winter months and on April 13th, the finished plans were released to subcontractors for review and to bid. On May 5th, subcontractor bids were due, and shortly thereafter, a guaranteed maximum price or GMP was completed by the general contractor and presented to the District for approval.
The Project Team is ready to start and as soon as Sugar City provides the required permits, construction will begin. For more information, please see Chester Bradshaw's (Sugar-Salem School District Superintendent) statement regarding this project found on the District website HERE.
